Julian Wilcox appointed chair of Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori

Julian Wilcox has been appointed as the new chair of Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori. His three-year term begins today.

Wilcox takes on the role following the tenure of outgoing chair Professor Rawinia Higgins. Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori is the Māori Language Commission responsible for promoting and facilitating the use of te reo Māori throughout Aotearoa.

Wilcox brings a wealth of experience to the position, having been involved in various initiatives aimed at revitalising and promoting the Māori language. His leadership is expected to steer the commission towards new goals and challenges in the coming years.
