Kaikōura Students Face School Bus Issues Two Months On

Students in Kaikōura have been without a school bus for more than two months following significant flood damage. This has resulted in long journeys for families trying to get their children to school.

Bub Taylor shared her frustration, stating that transporting her kids to school has become a 106-kilometre round trip since the bus service was disrupted. Many families in the area are facing similar challenges, as the lack of a dedicated school bus has made daily commutes increasingly difficult and time-consuming.

The community is rallying for solutions as the situation continues to impact students' education. Parents are calling on local authorities to address the issue promptly and restore the school bus service. Until then, families will have to manage these lengthy trips to ensure their children can attend school.
