New Chair and Members Appointed to EECA Board
Wayne Eagleson has been appointed as the new Chair of the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA). Alongside him, three new board members have also been appointed.
Energy Minister Simeon Brown announced the appointments, which take effect immediately. Nicholas Albrecht, Jonathan Kay, and Jacqueline Cheyne will serve as board members for three years.
Mr Brown expressed confidence that the new leadership will enhance EECA's role in supporting energy efficiency in New Zealand. He acknowledged the importance of reliable and affordable energy for economic growth.
The appointments follow the departure of former Chair Elena Trout and board members Judi Jones, Daniel Tulloch, and Christopher Boyle. Mr Brown thanked them for their contributions to the authority.
