16 driver testing officers suspended amid investigation

Sixteen driver testing officers have been suspended by the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) following an investigation into irregularities in driving test results. Approximately 650 drivers will need to retake their driving tests as a result.

The investigation revealed concerns about the accuracy of driving tests administered by the officers. NZTA is ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to uphold the integrity of the driving test process. Some additional officers have also been stood down while the inquiry continues.
