Defence Minister Chris Penk to Attend NATO Summit in Türkiye

Defence Minister Chris Penk is heading to Ankara, Türkiye, for the upcoming NATO Summit. He will participate in meetings with international counterparts and the Defence Industry Forum.

New Zealand remains committed to a rules-based international system. Mr Penk views the Summit as an opportunity to engage with like-minded nations on security matters. He plans to share insights on the geostrategic environment and strengthen collective security efforts.

Attending alongside the Indo-Pacific Four, which includes Australia, the Republic of Korea, and Japan, Mr Penk aims to explore collaboration opportunities. The Forum will also involve discussions with New Zealand businesses to enhance the Defence Force's capability and resilience.

Mr Penk departs tomorrow and will return to New Zealand on 10 July.
