Government Expands Language Support for Young Children

The government is set to expand the Enrich programme, aimed at enhancing language skills for young children. Education Minister Erica Stanford announced the growth of the initiative from 65 to 525 early childhood services nationwide.

The Enrich scheme focuses on improving language outcomes for tamariki in early childhood education settings. With this expansion, more services will be able to provide tailored support for children’s language development.

Stanford expressed the importance of investing in early childhood education. She believes that by boosting language skills at a young age, the government can set a solid foundation for lifelong learning.
