Western Bay of Plenty Summer Guide 2025/2026 Released

The Western Bay of Plenty District Council has launched a summer guide for 2025/2026. This resource aims to help residents and visitors enjoy the festive season.

The guide includes library opening hours, rubbish collection schedules, freedom camping spots, dog walking areas, and cycle trails. Libraries and service centres across the district will close from midday on December 24, reopening on January 5, giving everyone a chance to complete end-of-year tasks and get books for holiday reading.

From December 20 to January 10, the statutory timeline for building consents and other approvals will be paused. Applications submitted during this time will not have days counted against them, which means a delay in processing will occur for digital property file orders received after December 19. Normal processing will resume on January 12.

Residents can find the full summer guide on the council's dedicated webpage at westernbay.govt.nz/council/summer-information, ensuring no one misses out on festive fun in the area.
