Te Puke's Capitol Theatre Experience Returns to Life
Te Puke’s Capitol Theatre is making a comeback after three years of closure. The venue, now operating under Experience Te Puke Kiwifruit Capital of the World, is breathing new life into the community.
The society managing the theatre took over the lease in July and has been busy revamping the venue. Their first major event was a listening party for Taylor Swift's latest album, attracting local fans.
The theatre also played a part in the Te Puke Treat Trail, with a festive Halloween decor created in collaboration with the Te Puke Scouts. This initiative showcased the theatre as a vital community space.
In November, the theatre emphasised its historical role by screening the documentary 'Recloaking the Bay', allowing locals to connect with its rich past. The continued efforts promise more exciting opportunities for the public to enjoy this important community landmark.
