Funding Secured to Support School Choirs in NZ

Education Minister Erica Stanford has announced secured funding for The Big Sing, benefiting over 9,000 students. Both the New Zealand Choral Federation and Choirs Aotearoa New Zealand will each receive a one-off grant of $150,000.

The funding aims to enhance the production of annual choir events, promoting music as a vital part of learning. Minister Stanford emphasised that music helps foster engagement, builds confidence, and opens doors to new opportunities for students. Involving students in choirs can also keep them connected to their education.
