Katikati Woman Rose Mischewski Celebrates 100th Birthday

Katikati local Rose Mischewski has reached the remarkable milestone of 100 years old — a century that spans the era of black-and-white television, Ford Model Ts on the roads, and Saturday night dances at the local hall. Despite her age, Rose remains mobile, sharp, and full of good humour.

She was delighted to receive a birthday card from the King, arriving just ahead of his own birthday. When asked for advice to pass on to younger generations, she kept it refreshingly simple: enjoy your life, do what you want to do, and don't try to copy someone else's path.
