Scammer Targets Local Elderly Resident

An elderly resident in Katikati was recently scammed out of thousands of dollars after receiving a fake call claiming to be from Spark. This incident has raised alarms within the community about ongoing scams targeting vulnerable individuals.

The scammer convinced the victim to provide sensitive information and even instructed them to leave bank cards outside their home. Residents are reminded to be cautious about unexpected calls and to report suspicious activities to the police.
