Katikati Anzac Dawn Service Brings Community Together

Katikati’s Anzac Dawn Service drew a large crowd on April 25, as locals gathered to pay tribute to those who served in conflicts. Led by Katikati Bowling Club president Bryn Gradwell, the event featured emotional speeches and reflections on sacrifice.

The service began early with a march from veterans and community members, creating a solemn atmosphere. Guest speakers highlighted personal stories of family members who served, reminding attendees that every family has a history intertwined with the impacts of war.

After laying wreaths, the community observed a moment of silence, underscoring the significance of remembrance. This annual gathering continues to hold deep meaning among Kiwis, marking a time to reflect on sacrifices made.
