Katikati Lions launch inaugural Easter Bonnet Extravaganza

The Katikati Lions Club is inviting people of all ages to get creative this Easter, hosting its first ever Easter Bonnet Extravaganza on 4 April. Organiser and Lioness Jo Hurne says the club is keen to see as many outrageous bonnet designs as possible, and is calling on everyone from tamariki through to adults to register.

The competition features three age-based categories. The Little Bunnies category is open to children aged 10 and under, with prizes of $50, $30 and $20 for first, second and third place. Creative Teens caters for youth aged 11–17, offering a $200 first prize, while the Master Makers category for adults 18 and over awards $300 to the winner.

On top of the category prizes, any entrant regardless of age group can be in the running for the Katikati Lions Supreme Award, which carries a cash prize of $400. Details on how to enter are available on page 5 of the paper.
