Community Quest days coming to Waihī Beach and Katikati
Western Bay of Plenty's Community Quest — an arcade-inspired family event combining fun activities with community feedback — is heading to Waihī Beach and Katikati over the coming weeks. Waihī Beach Community Centre Reserve hosts the first event on Saturday, 28 February, from 10am to 1pm, with Katikati's turn at Moore Park on Saturday, 7 March, same hours.
Participants of all ages can try rock climbing walls, parkour, and circus activities, as well as face painting, music, and free games. Adults and children complete missions and trade their feedback on the district's future for free food, prizes, and entertainment. WBOPDC interim general manager strategy and community Emily Watton said the Quest is a fun way for people to help shape spatial plans being developed for Katikati, Te Puke, Waihī Beach/Bowentown/Athenree, and Te Puna/Minden.
