Robbie Williams tribute act rocks Katikati's Haiku Park
Haiku Park came alive on the evening of Saturday, 31 January 2026, when Tony Lewis — the UK's premier Robbie Williams tribute act — brought a 20-stop New Zealand tour to Katikati for the town's one and only twilight concert of the year. A crowd of roughly 1,100 people of all ages turned out, and within minutes of Lewis taking the stage the audience was singing, swaying and dancing along to Williams' biggest hits.
Local artist Sophie Gibson warmed up the crowd before Lewis arrived ready to party. Katikati News reporter Merle Cave was on hand to capture the atmosphere of the evening.
Among the notable attendees was Western Bay of Plenty Mayor James Denyer, who came along with his partner Sarah-Jane Bourne and their 11-month-old son Hugo. A special mention also went to Yolanda Farrell, 95, of Katikati, who was gifted a bottle of wine for being the oldest concert-goer on the night.
