Te Rā o Waitangi Festival Set for February 6

Katikati residents are invited to attend the second Waitangi Day festival at Haiku Reserve on February 6. This festive event promises to bring together diverse cultures through music, crafts, and performances.

The festival will run from 11am to 3pm, featuring local band Katikati Trio, cultural workshops, and interactive activities for all ages. The day will begin with a mihi from Ngāi Tamawhariua’s kuia and kaumatua, setting a positive tone for the celebrations.

Paula Gaelic, museum manager, noted that increased space will be available for crafts due to last year's high participation. Local performance groups will showcase their talents, making it a wonderful occasion for community bonding.
