Local Businesses Hit Hard by Recent Flooding

Recent flooding has left a trail of destruction for local businesses in Katikati and beyond. Owners are now assessing the extent of the damage and looking towards future recovery.

The flooding caused extensive damage, leading to closures and red-stickered properties. Owners of Surf Shack Eatery reported significant losses, while Bridgestone Tyre Centre and The Veggie Hub managed to recover quickly thanks to community support.

The Mayor noted that about 80 individuals self-evacuated to local shelters, highlighting the strong connections within the community during times of crisis.
