Bowentown Domain Café Proposal Open for Community Feedback
The operator of Bowentown Beach Holiday Park is seeking permission from Western Bay of Plenty District Council to run a café open to the public from their lease premises at Bowentown Domain. Bowentown Holidays Limited, which holds a lease over reserve land at the domain, lodged the request with council, which has agreed to the proposal in principle and is now seeking community feedback before making a final decision.
Consultation closes on Sunday 8 February. Following that, a formal report will be prepared summarising the feedback received. If submissions or objections are made, a hearing may be held before council decides whether to proceed with the land use change under delegated powers granted by the Reserves Act 1977. Members of the public can submit their views through the Western Bay of Plenty District Council website.
