Katikati Lions Santa Parade and Christmas in the Park Delight Crowds

The Katikati Lions' Santa Parade rolled through town last Saturday afternoon, drawing smiles from young and old as around 20 floats — including tractors, vintage vehicles and a boat — made their way through the streets. Father Christmas himself rode along, waving to the crowd alongside an elf and excited children.

After the parade wrapped up, families headed to Moore Park for Christmas in the Park, a community celebration put on by Katch Katikati. The event featured live entertainment, circus activities, large backyard games, bouncy castles, and a popular 'snow' play area created using foam — made possible with support from Katikati Youth Action Krew and Katikati Community Led Development.

The festive afternoon brought together locals of all ages, with firefighters, community groups and families joining in the fun. Katikati News photographer Merle Cave captured the joyful scenes throughout the day.
