Katikati Concert Band Brings Free Carols to Haiku Reserve

The Katikati Concert Band is hosting a free outdoor carols event at the Haiku Reserve on Saturday 13 December, running from 4pm to 6pm. The event, now in its third year, was established in 2023 as a way for the band to give something back to the community, choosing the reserve as a welcoming spot where whānau and friends could gather, sing along, and enjoy festive music together.

This year the band has joined forces with the Mural Town Singers to offer a fuller musical experience. Event organiser Karen Goh encourages everyone to come along, bringing their own chairs, picnic rugs, snacks, and singing voices.

The festivities continue the following day, Sunday 14 December, when the band performs at Athenree Homestead from 3pm alongside the Waihī Beach Singers. That event is also free, making it a great opportunity to pack a picnic and enjoy an afternoon of Christmas music in relaxed surroundings.
