Arts Junction Transforms Into Festive Hub for Christmas 2025

Katikati's Arts Junction is set to become a centre of Christmas activity from Monday 15 December through to Sunday 28 December, with the 'Christmas in the Junction' programme offering movies, music, storytelling, festive displays, and visits from Santa. KatchKatikati events manager Kylie Watkins said local groups including Katikati Floral Art, Western Bay Library, and the Combined Churches will all contribute to transforming the space.

Santa will be on site for photos and selfies between 17 and 24 December, with no booking required — families can simply drop in during advertised times. Special cinema days on 15 and 22 December will screen titles including The Grinch, The Bad Guys 2, White Christmas, and The Life of Chuck.

A programme highlight will be the Kids' Christmas Shows on 20 and 21 December, presented by Katikati Open Air Art (KOAA). The interactive show, Miss Amelia: Little Raconteurs Storytime, blends music, movement, and play to bring stories to life. KOAA said the shows are part of their commitment to introducing young people to the performing arts in a fun and meaningful way.

Christmas in the Junction is open daily except Christmas Day. For Santa visit times, opening hours, and full programme details visit katikati.org.nz/christmas-in-katikati-2025 or phone 07 549 1658.
