Kauri Point Historic Reserve Cultural Concept Plan Open for Feedback
Western Bay of Plenty District Council, working alongside hapū group Te Kō Rōpu, has developed a cultural concept plan for Kauri Point Historic Reserve and is now seeking community input before feedback closes on 7 December 2025.
The plan has been designed to protect and enhance the cultural, environmental, recreational, and historical values of the reserve. Key aims include honouring cultural values and ancestral connections, protecting local biodiversity, and ensuring the area remains safe, welcoming, and accessible for everyone now and into the future.
Residents can share their views online at yourplace.westernbay.govt.nz/kauri-point-historic-reserve, or pick up hard-copy concept plans and feedback forms from the Pātuki Manawa Katikati Library and Service Centre. Feedback closes at 11:59pm on Sunday, 7 December 2025.
