Athenree Homestead Christmas Fair Returns This Sunday
Athenree Homestead's popular annual Christmas Fair is back this Sunday, 16 November, running from 10am to 2pm and featuring 46 stalls — many of them new this year. Visitors can browse arts and crafts, food, plants, clothing, gifts and more, making it a handy chance to tick off some festive shopping early.
A Katikati band will provide entertainment throughout the day, and the historic station adjacent to the homestead will be open selling tea, coffee and scones. There will also be a sausage sizzle, a Christmas cake raffle, and the homestead itself will be open to explore.
Events manager Lorraine Morten says proceeds from stall fees, station sales and the raffle will all go towards maintaining the historic homestead, which was built in 1878 by Ulster Irish settlers Hugh and Adela Stewart. "Please come along, enjoy the day, find some gifts and support our historic homestead," she said.
