Katikati Wrestling Club Celebrates 2025 Prizegiving Winners

The Katikati Olympic Freestyle Wrestling Club has wrapped up its season with a prizegiving ceremony honouring standout members across a range of categories. Quinn Clark took home the club's most prestigious award, the John Grayling Memorial Trophy for Most Outstanding Wrestler, while Ollie Clark received the Robertson Cup for Attitude and Excellence at Local and National Level.

Other award recipients included Onyx Cottrell, who earned the Clark Trophy for Sportsmanship and Conduct, and Eden Cave, who was recognised as Most Improved Wrestler with the Bay of Plenty Shield. Dusty Boyes claimed the Tanner Trophy for Most Enthusiastic Kid Wrestler, Suraj Singh won the Ross Ashby Cup for Most Dynamic Wrestler, and Ashton Hunter received the Lowe Family Trophy for Skill and Discipline Under 10.

With competition against older and bigger opponents on the horizon for some of the younger wrestlers, the club looks forward to an exciting season ahead. Coach Ross Tanner has praised the wrestlers for their dedication, noting that the sport has taught them never to give up.
