Applications Open for CCTV Fund in Western Bay

The Western Bay of Plenty District Council has opened applications for its CCTV Fund, providing up to $50,000 for projects aimed at enhancing safety in public spaces. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to deter crime and promote community well-being.

Since its inception, this fund has helped install 25 new cameras across the region, significantly improving local safety. Proposed camera sites must be in shared public areas, with applications closing on November 14.

Councillor Kerrie Little encourages locals to submit proposals, emphasizing that community insights are crucial for identifying areas in need of support.
