Te Puke Groups Unite on $5 Million Movement HQ
A group of organisations including Te Puke Gymsport, Parkour Club, Te Puke Dance Studios, Graeme Dingle Foundation and Te Puke Junior Football Club have united to create a $5 million Bay of Plenty Movement HQ at Centennial Park. The facility aims to bring families together through sport, recreation, fitness and wellness, with a two-year plan to get the building off the ground.
Te Puke Gymsport general manager Erin McKenna stressed that the project is a collaboration designed to serve the whole whānau. "We're creating a space where the whole family can move together, with children enjoying gymnastics, parkour or dance while parents can take part in fitness or wellness sessions," she said. The facility will offer adult fitness classes, Keep on your Feet classes and Tai Chi.
The plan will launch with a "5 for the Future" event on November 1, promising an action-packed afternoon of live demonstrations and interactive activities for families.
