Waihī Beach Coastguard Launches New Rescue Vessel

Waihī Beach Coastguard has launched a new $1.02 million rescue vessel, enhancing their capabilities. The 10m Fantom RV1000 was blessed and unveiled at a community event.

Equipped with the latest navigation and rescue technology, the vessel replaces an older model. It will significantly improve safety on the notoriously tricky Bowentown Bar. The community gathered at Bowentown Boat Club for the launch, which was attended by local dignitaries and sponsors.
