Katikati Faces Wild Winds, Damaging Roofs and Trees

Katikati faced a weekend of high winds, resulting in significant damage across the town. Local emergency services responded to multiple callouts as the community dealt with the aftermath.

The Katikati Volunteer Fire Brigade reported 29 incidents in just 14 hours, including a residential home that lost almost its entire roof. Winds reached up to 133.3 km/h, causing widespread disturbances, including downed trees and flying trampolines.
