Kaimai Ward Reserves Management Plan Gets Revamp

The Western Bay of Plenty District Council has officially adopted an updated Kaimai Ward Reserve Management Plan, setting a nine-year framework for managing local reserves. The plan aims to reflect community needs and improve amenities.

Public consultation this year led to 71 submissions guiding the council's direction. Key updates include new pest management strategies and formal recognition of local heritage through reserved names and proposed cultural initiatives.

This refreshed plan will not only maintain the area's natural beauty but also enhance community engagement with these cherished spaces. The council is committed to ensuring a well-rounded mix of recreational options for residents and visitors alike.
