Katikati Beauty Clinic Hit by Third Break-in in Three Years

Dreamer's Beauty Clinic director Suzanne Bullivant says she has "had enough" after her Jocelyn Street business was broken into on the night of 23 August — the third time in as many years. Security cameras captured footage of a tall offender forcing their way in through a high window at around 11.30pm, ransacking her office and making off with retail products and other valuables, while leaving her laptop untouched on the desk.

Police arrived with search dogs, which tracked a scent down the hill behind the clinic, along a concrete path beside the Talisman Drive office block and towards Carisbrooke Street. Bullivant has handed the footage to police. Earlier in the same week, a clothes basket went missing from the garage and staff believed a spray-tan tent had been moved — though Bullivant is uncertain whether those incidents are connected to the break-in.

Bullivant, who has operated Dreamer's in Katikati for around two decades, said the repeated intrusions have taken an emotional toll. "Owning a small business is always hard, but having these break-ins has hit us emotionally. We just want to come to work and focus on what we need to do," she said, adding that loyal clients had been a source of real comfort. She is asking anyone with security footage from the vicinity of Jocelyn Street overnight on 23 August to pass it on to police, referencing file number 250824/0245 when calling 105.
