Matahui Distillery applies for on-licence to sell alcohol
A new distillery on the outskirts of Katikati is seeking permission to sell alcohol directly to the public. Amatis Limited has lodged an application with the Western Bay of Plenty District Licensing Committee for an on-licence at its premises at 270 Matahui Road, Katikati, trading as Matahui Distillery.
The application covers alcohol sales seven days a week, from 9.00am to 9.00pm. The licence category sought is an on-licence for premises not otherwise specified, which typically covers businesses such as distilleries that sell and serve on-site.
Anyone with grounds to object has until 25 working days after the date of first public notification to file a written objection with the Secretary of the District Licensing Committee at Western Bay of Plenty District Council, Private Bag 12803, Tauranga. Objections must relate to matters set out in section 105(1) of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
