Katikati Community Centre Faces Funding Challenge

Katikati Community Centre is at risk of losing its dedicated community advocate role due to funding shortfalls. This essential position has been crucial for locals needing support since its establishment during the Covid pandemic.

General Manager Nicky Austin highlighted the importance of the role, which connects vulnerable residents with vital services. With funding from the Ministry of Social Development having ceased, the centre now needs to raise $100,000 by August 31 to continue the service, otherwise many families will be left without support.
