New Battery Recycling Units Arrive at District Libraries

Western Bay of Plenty District Council has rolled out new battery recycling units across local libraries, making it easier for residents to dispose of batteries safely.

The units, located in Waihī Beach, Katikati, Ōmokoroa, and Te Puke, are designed to prevent fire hazards associated with improper battery disposal. Residents are encouraged to safely tape battery terminals before recycling. Council aims to enhance environmental responsibility within the community through this initiative.
