New Picture Book Aims to Revitalise Te Reo Māori

University of Waikato lecturer Ngairo Eruera has co-authored a new picture book titled 'Koro Wētā'. This bilingual story seeks to connect tamariki with te reo Māori.

'Koro Wētā', written by Heather Haylock and illustrated by Sarah Trolle, tells the tale of a young girl and a giant wētā. Ngairo emphasises the importance of making te reo accessible in everyday settings. The book enriches community connections and promotes language revitalisation.
