Katikati Celebrates 150 Years Since Ulster Settlers' Arrival

Katikati is gearing up to mark the 150th anniversary of the arrival of Ulster Irish settlers. The celebration will include a range of community events from September 12-14.

The weekend's theme, 'Travel Through Time', aims to honour both the settlers and the Māori heritage of the area. Festivities will include historical talks, a car parade, and Irish music, culminating in a settlers' dance. The committee encourages locals to participate and remember their rich history.
