Katikati Squash Club Sends 11 Players to National Championships

Katikati Squash Club is heading into an exciting September, with eleven members set to compete at national squash championships across two grades. Club player Laura Young described it as "a massive deal", noting the club usually only sends one or two players to district-level events in a given year.

Laura will travel to Dunedin alongside her twin daughters Mel and Emma, aged 14, who are part of the C Grade team representing Bay of Plenty at the National C Grade Championship from 10–14 September. At the same time, her 16-year-old daughter Kendall and Mel will represent the region at the D Grade National Championship in Invercargill, competing as part of a combined team with Putaruru Squash Club.

To fund the trip for all eleven members, the club is hosting fundraisers throughout August with a target of $11,000 — and they're calling on the public for support.
