Shona Graham Celebrated for 30 Years of Volunteering

Katikati resident Shona Graham has been honoured with a Lifetime Volunteer Award for her remarkable 30 years of service to the community. Her journey began with a call for volunteers in 1995, and she has since made a lasting impact at various local organisations.

Graham began volunteering with Katikati's Christmas Float Parade and has since become integral to the Katikati Community Centre and school holiday programmes. Her cheery nature and dedication have made a difference to many, offering support in events like the Festival of Cultures and health expos.

Community Centre manager Nicky Austin praised Graham’s unwavering commitment, stating, 'She’s cheery, positive, hard-working, and we couldn’t survive without her.' Graham continues to inspire through her passion for helping others, showcasing the heart of volunteering in the community.
