Surf 'n' Sand AutoRama raises $35,000 for local organisations
Four months after the epic Surf 'n' Sand AutoRama car show and community day out at Pukehina School in March, the fundraising event has delivered impressive results. The event, which featured about 450 vehicles, 50-plus food and craft stalls, and specialist vehicles, raised $35,000 that has been handed over to five organisations.
Each organisation received $7,000. The primary beneficiaries were Pukehina Volunteer Fire Brigade and Pukehina Surf Rescue. Also receiving support were Pukehina Fishing Club, Inspire Kindergarten Ōtamarākau, and Youth Encounter. The event, originally started in 2020 to fundraise for Pukehina Beach Surf Rescue and Pukehina Volunteer Fire Brigade, has bounced back strongly after a Covid-enforced cancellation and flooding challenges, going from strength to strength.
