Waihī Beach Library Opens with Community Spirit

The new Te Ara Mātauranga library at Waihī Beach has officially opened. This $5 million facility is a significant upgrade, offering more space and resources for the community.

The library features a total of 10,000 books, meeting rooms, and free Wi-Fi. With extended hours of operation, it's designed to be a community hub where locals can gather and engage in learning activities.

Community members, including students from Waihī Beach School, participated in the blessing and opening. The design incorporates cultural elements contributed by Te Whānau a Tauwhao, linking the building to local heritage and the coastal environment.
