Te Puke to host Sirens and Services safety and security expo

Te Puke will host the Sirens and Services expo on July 26 at Te Puke War Memorial Hall, focusing on safety, security and community services. Event coordinator Rebecca Larsen said the expo would feature local community services presenting information and resources to the community, with an emphasis on prevention. The event is looking for any organisations involved in safety and security in the broadest sense, including water safety, home safety features like handrails for elderly people, online security systems, alarms and fire safety. Those attending the expo will receive a passport to fill in with rewards in the form of ice creams. Te Puke Neighbourhood Support co-ordinator Colleen Pye said the emphasis is on locally-based services that can provide support to the greater Te Puke area.
