Local Woman Opens Farm to Host Orienteering Course for AIMS Games 2025
A 76-year-old Te Puke woman who fell in love with orienteering a few years ago is opening up her Pongakawa farm to host the new TeamRogaine course for this year's Zespri AIMS Games. Lexie Tait discovered the sport after catching a glimpse of what it was like when she competed with her daughters in a 2013 adventure race. Orienteering has since become a family affair, and when asked if Panea Farm could be used for AIMS Games 2025, Tait said it was a no-brainer. "We're more than happy to see a bunch of kids running around, being happy and doing what they like doing. It'll be fun… we're so excited," she said. The AIMS Games orienteering course is now being set up on the farm.
