Katikati Students Participate in Environmental Programme

Katikati Primary School's students have been taking part in a hands-on environmental programme, focusing on local conservation efforts. This initiative helps students become kaitiaki (guardians) of their environment.

The programme, Treasuring Our Place, teaches Year 5 and 6 students the importance of caring for their natural surroundings. Recently, they worked in their school gully to remove pest plants and installed nesting boxes for local wildlife.

This experience not only educates them about environmental issues but also fosters a sense of responsibility towards their local ecosystem.
