Horse Training Champion Bex Tasker Takes on Kaimanawa

Bex Tasker, a professional horse trainer from Aongatete, is taking on her third Kaimanawa assignment. Tasker’s work involves training two wild horses from the recent muster, highlighting her commitment to this heritage breed.

The horses arrived on April 27 from the Kaimanawa Range, and Tasker is working diligently to tame them using fear-free techniques. The current effort aligns with a broader initiative aiming to rehome more horses as their population grows beyond sustainable levels.
