Colliers’ Team Revives Community Orchard in Katikati

A construction team from Colliers recently volunteered their time to support Grow On Katikati in maintaining a community orchard. The initiative is part of a local food resilience plan aimed at promoting sustainable growing practices.

On May 20, the team used shovels and wheelbarrows to weed and mulch trees planted last November. This collaborative effort not only enhances the local environment but also fosters community connections through teamwork.

The orchard will eventually allow children to pick seasonal fruits on their way to school, marking a step towards a more resilient local food system. Community involvement remains vital for future care and maintenance of the space.
