Community rallies at Pink Ribbon fundraiser
Te Puke Squash Club hosted its third annual Pink Ribbon fundraiser, attracting around 70 people dressed in pink to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Foundation and breast cancer research. The event featured a walk, brunch, champagne, games and singing, with approximately 20 volunteers helping to make the day a success.
Organiser Jenny Wotten said the club held similar events in 2021 and 2022, with consistent attendance numbers. Committee member Helen Taylor emphasised the importance of the wider community seeing the squash club as more than just a sports facility. "It's important that people see us as more than just a squash club, we are part of the community, not just a sports club," Taylor said. Kiwi Coast Lions members also contributed treats to the event.
