Project Hip Hop Dance Competition Comes Home to Te Puke High School
What started as a way to make the country a better place has turned into a national dance competition. Project Hip Hop, the brainchild of Sarah Martin, was designed to provide an opportunity for entry-level dancers to experience a high-quality dance competition event for the first time in over a decade. The event is led by Jennifer Cram, head of dance at Te Puke High School, who was a student of Martin's when the project first began.
The competition has attracted dance groups from all over the country, including groups like Roxy from RDG. Martin sees the event as a full-circle moment this year, with Te Puke High School now entering dancers to gain confidence to compete in other national events.
