Katikati Primary School Students Take On Cross Country at Moore Park

Around 470 students from Katikati Primary School headed to Moore Park on 13 May to take part in one of Kiwi schooling's great traditions — cross country. Year 0 to 6 pupils competed across the course under cloudy but fine skies, cheered on by teachers, whānau, siblings and classmates from the sidelines.

The kids made the most of the occasion, with some running hard while others cartwheeled, jumped and threw themselves across the finish line with plenty of enthusiasm. Eden Cave claimed first place in the Year 3 girls' race, while Avril Kean was on track to take top spot in the Year 5 girls' race. Year 6 boys and younger students also featured strongly throughout the event.
