St John Katikati Gets New Gen4 Ambulance Funded by Community Trust

Katikati's Hato Hone St John station marked a significant milestone on 6 May when it held a dedication ceremony for a brand-new Generation 4 ambulance — the safest service vehicle the organisation currently has available. Emergency medical technician Anita Smart was among the first to get behind the wheel of the new rig.

The ambulance offers an upgraded level of safety for both St John staff and their patients. It was gifted to the community through the We Care Community Trust, whose founder Raji Singh said the need was clear. "I personally feel this is a community need and the St John team works really hard — they need new ambulances to do their work and provide their service to the community," Singh said.
