Abbeyfield Katikati Invites Public to Sponsor a 'Brick' in New Home

Construction is under way on a new Abbeyfield Katikati house on Wills Road, with completion expected in December this year. The project aims to provide a much-needed housing option for people aged 65 and over who are lonely or isolated, struggling to maintain a household, or living in unsuitable conditions but unable to afford market rents or a place in a retirement village. The house will accommodate up to 14 residents.

With the build progressing, Abbeyfield Western Bay of Plenty Inc is still fundraising the final amount needed and is now inviting the public to symbolically sponsor a brick for $25. Donations can be made to bank account 38-9019-0720156-00 with the reference 'Bricks', or by emailing fundabbeyfieldwbop@gmail.com or phoning 027 348 7748.
