Waihī Beach Lifeguards Celebrate Safe Season

Waihī Beach Lifeguards have wrapped up a successful patrol season with zero drownings. The team celebrated many preventative actions that ensured beachgoers remained safe.

This season saw over 53,700 safety interventions and numerous volunteer hours dedicated to community safety. Lifeguard director Lucy Scown praised the team's dedication and proactive approach.

The lifeguards are preparing for off-season training while encouraging visitors to stay vigilant as the beach remains open year-round.
